waiting for response from master server

    Hello,

I have updated call of duty 4 modernw warfare to 1.4, i have been trying to go online for 5 days now and I am regretting getting this game. I have tried to delete this config_ms.cfg file and have the game rebuild it maybe that might work... nope still says on the multiplayer site.... "waiting for response from master server" when clicking on update list, all, internet, lan, etc. nothing, I have a 3600+ amd athlon, video card, ati 1300, 256mb, Charter cable connection. WHAT IS wrong!!! is there something I need to do with my firewall like a port or something, I have made sure the firewall allows connection out and in for the game and it says it. I dont know, help please!!! i want to play

Try a search of these forums, because this question gets asked a lot.

Simple answer is that something is preventing your PC from communicating with the Master Servers.

Most likely culprits are your firewall, your router (if you have one), anti-virus software, or if Punkbuster isn't updated (try doing a manual update). If it was working before, and has just now stopped when you went to v1.4, it's most likely Punkbuster, unless you've downloaded any updates recently for your firewall/A-V software.

The current patch is 1.5. Maybe you are trying to do something different though, but I would think that may be the problem.

Try turning off your softwar firewall and antivirus and see if it makes any difference. Turn off one then the other. If it starts working, you will know what to focus on.

Also, try using the \connect command, from the console (hit ~ by default). You can try connecting to one of our servers below.
