crashes when change resolution

k so i just built a pc

core 2 duo 2.2
2 gigs ddr2 800
geforce 8600gts

When i change my resolution it crashes to dektop. then when i try to start the game again i can head everything but cant see anything.

change resolution where? ingame or via the shortcut.

Make sure you're changing resolution to something that your monitor / GFX card supports.
