    Flight...Characteristics?

Anyone else notice that when you go FASTER your turning radius increases? And when you go slow, you fly like a Harrier hovering without an RCS system. I found it easier to fly a Cessna 152 in real life - and also easier to fly in LOMAC then BF2, which is supposed to have arcade flight dynamics?

Well yeah.. to a point.. like if you just go normal speed with afterburner you will turn tighter, but if you are going too fast IE up high 3,000... yeah. lol

Turn diamater is dependant on 2 things.

      Airspeed and altitude.

And gravity.. and surface area on the rudders and stuff like that.. but yeah.. basically, just go full speed. If you are up past like 600 you will have a larger turning radius.

          BF2! Not real life!

In BF2, a jets flight characteristics are determined by the following factors:

          Altitude
          Airspeed
          "Flap angle"
          "Flap rotation speed"
          "Flap rotation acceleration"

          :p

Never thought of that. I havent checked Sandbox, but from my extensive jet file research, I have yet to come across references to gravity. Ive seen "float modifier" and the likes though... Go figure, looks like theres some form of physics in the game afterall.

Saw a youtube movie of what you're talking about, was pretty amazing.

i was on about this recently, i dont use the plane maps now. being bombed by the same plane twice in 5 seconds is too arcade for me, its gotta be realistic and hard. bf2 is aimed at amatures. i think the planes were thrown in for people young and new to gaming.
