    Mouse Keeps Dying

    I have a Logitech MX518 mouse, and it keeps turning off in the middle of combat in BF2. It is off, then I normally have to put it in another USB port and it turns back on. The mouse is less than 2 years old, and only seems to do it in BF2.

    Any suggestions?

      have you changed or made any tweaks to your USB settings?

          No I haven't, but just reformatted about 2 weeks ago. I installed the normal drivers.

              Strangely a similar thing has happened to me with my razer copperhead. Save for the fact that is does not discriminate which games to turn its self off during.

                      Not directly, no...I move the mouse to different USB ports, but it still does it occasionally.

                          It is a known issue with some copperheads, i dont know about other manufacturers.

                                  I had 2 dead mx510 in the past with similar symptoms :)

                                      It'll be a dead mouse.

                                      Exact same thing happened with my Saitek gaming mouse. it would turn off suddenly and make the Windows hardware disconnected noise and then reconnect about 2 minutes later.

                                      RMA if you can, otherwise, new mouse time.
