Awesome! I'm also a flying whore so I try and become the "Best" with gunships. Same in BF2.

I am just beginning to get the hang of seat switching. What I have to do is always go up to 300m then I can shoot one. I can never shoot em at the altitudes you shoot at and not crash. What's your secret?

EDIT: I also loved the music! What mouse sensitivity do you use? What mouse?

I have a Logitech G9 and use 5 different sensitivities with my DPI botton thingy.

Well, one thing is don't stay with the TV missile for as long as I did in my video. The scenes I chose depicted me staying in the TV view until impact because it worked better with the music. Get it over your target and switch back to your pilots seat. The TV missile will just keep going straight, and if you're low enough, the enemy will not have a chance to move out of the way.

My mouse has on-the-fly sensitivity changes, but since I use all the buttons on my mouse, I can't take advantage of this feature. I fly at around 10-9-9 in-game, 1800DPI at medium sensitivity. I actually wish I could go higher for dogfights, but then my mouse goes too fast for infantry combat. =[

Anyways, once you've practiced a lot with soloing, the time it takes to hit the ground starts feeling like an eternity. You'll just need to get a feeling for how long it takes to fall (which just comes with practice). The better you get at knowing when you're about to hit the ground, the less you're going to hit the ground (obviously =P).

One thing that really helps me is that I remapped most of the gunship controls. My thumb buttons change the view. My middle button switches me to second seat. My R key switches me back to first seat. This makes switching an almost instantaneous process. I've built into my mind this process: Middle-click followed immediately by right-click switches me to TV missile mode, as soon as I've fired and know it's going to hit, I press R followed immediately by W to get out of free-fall.

You can look at my remapped keys and how I remapped them in this thread

There are really no good tips. You just need to build switching into your muscle memory. Find a good setup and stick with it. Just keep doing it, even if you keep crashing. Single player is a good place to practice. Remapping helps a lot because you can design your controls so you don't have to move your hand. This can give you a lot of much needed time.

Hah. Thanks. Although there are tons of people who are just as good, if not way better than I am. =P They just don't waste their time making frag videos.
