i defrag my hard drive and do virus scans regularly

should i be able to play 64 player maps smoothly?
also, what do you guys consider "excellent framerate" for this game?

oh, and also, should i consider that maybe my computer is slowing down a little bit because its getting worn out? I've had it for a year and a half and have used it heavily idk.

it should i would think. but its actually lagging like total garbage, especially on 64 player conquest and almost any titan maps. I really want to know what is going on.

Thats really strange! Have you edited your graphics settings? I generally play everything on low, except map texture as lower than normal may cause crashes in some cases. And the view distance at 100. And I very rarely lag, and my system is just about the same as yours.

how well does your rig actually run it?

Yes you should be able to max it. I play all the settings (Save for texture and geo) on full, the others on medium and don't lag on any servers. My internet isn't that fast either and I only run 1 GB ram.

Had a 7500 LE card before and could play it flawlessly at medium (have a 8800 GTS now), a 7900 card of any type should be able to max it out.

Perhaps the computer is getting a bit warm, have you checked if the fans run properly? You could also have a lot of dust in the case, if you haven't opened it for a while you should check it out.

What are your fps?

I play with dual Athlon MP 2800's 1.5GB DDR, AGP x1950 and get around 20-25 fps in 32 player titans with most of the settings on lowest.
