Hmm...if that occured on a custom map or unranked server, it's possible the helicopter paths were changed so that a crash landing within the playable area was possible (or the helo is already added to the map as an object).

As far as I know, on the stock maps on ranked servers, helo's are coded to crash outside of the playable area.

Could be, which is why I included the "or unranked server" bit. If this occured on a ranked server, then it's a very rare bug. I personally haven't seen another post about a helo crashing on the map itself.
