The pump shotty is in fact a very good weapon if used correctly. If used for headshots in close quarters a la CSS, it can be devastating.

At 20m? Unless you have some sort of cheat that makes the gun fire slugs instead of scattershot, then no. At 10m or below I'd agree, but 20m out is a bit too wide of a range for a reliable one-hit-kill from the pump shotgun simply because of pellet spread. Especially if he prones (like pretty much everyone in BF2 does), you're aiming at an even smaller target. Certainly it's lethal at ranges over 3m, but I wouldn't want the gun at 15-20m. And IIRC the damage mitigation from armour is 50% from a shotgun, so if you're facing an AT/support/assault (although I realise he was talking about medic), you'll have to get 7 of the 8 pellets to land to get an OHK, barring a chance headshot, and at 20m that's highly unlikely.Well, if your saying that the gun sucks past 3 meters, you clearly dont know how to use it. The gun will kill you in one shot up to 20 meters. After that its 2+ shots, although sometimes you might get lucky. So unless you will hit me in the head with your G36E, i will assrape you at below 20 meters

Hm.. Im pretty sure there is around 20 meters from one end of that small alley south of Hotel to the other end, and i have no problems with oneshot killing ppl on that range. At 20m? Hm.. It might actually only be something like 15 meters, but meh..Comment

Yeah, ranges in this game are kind of screwy. Then again I may be thinking 20m is farther away than it truly is. All I know is that too many times I fail to get an OHK simply because of the pellet spread, and on prone targets it's almost impossible to get a hit unless I'm literally right on top of them.
'Course, it could just be that the BF2 gods are, yet again, flipping me the virtual bird.

You may, bunny hop and survive my spray from and SMG; but no amount of bunny hopping, or dolphin diving will prevent your doom when I'm armed with my trusty M11-87

Doesn't make sense, you're saying that bunnyhopping is effective against weapons which shoot around 30 bullets at the target at an explicitly fast rate, and yet when you have a weapon that shoots one, single large round, it suddenly becomes pointless? Not likely.
What is with the creepy smilies too?Comment

Because this game is known to have laggy hitboxes that follow behind the models actual animation, hence why you shoot him and you see the dirt behind him puff instead of putting a bead on his head.Originally posted by TsovehrDoesn't make sense, you're saying that bunnyhopping is effective against weapons which shoot around 30 bullets at the target at an explicitly fast rate, and yet when you have a weapon that shoots one, single large round, it suddenly becomes pointless? lol i had to use that smile lol my mum does that face when she thinks shes right..pisses me offf lolComment

Yeah, the game is reputed to be notoriously laggy with hitboxes as they lag behind; Hence a shot at 150-200M at one head length trailing the target will result in a headshot.
This is of course when is is running lateral (Left/Right) of your position. when he is running towards you, aiming above his helmet just above your crosshair width (L96A1 of course) will result in the intended head shot.
and yes; that smiley is quite correct in my usage.Comment

Exactly! So it's better to use a gun that can shoot more than 1 bullet every 5 seconds.Originally posted by Teh_DiplomatBecause this game is known to have laggy hitboxes that follow behind the models actual animation, hence why you shoot him and you see the dirt behind him puff instead of putting a bead on his head.
