    M11-87 totally lethal

Never thought that I would own up and say what a hell of a weapon the M11-87 pump action shot gun is. I fancy a change so I did and mange to kill people at close range with one shot. It has its faults but it rocks when at close range and a plus side is that if fired at a distance you end up spraying the others troops as well.

Best at close range bad at long distance if you are new to BF2 take a look and see what can be done

Well I never thought it was a good weapon but I have to stand corrected.

It is a good weapon, yes, but somewhat unreliable, even at close range. Too many times it takes three rounds to kill a target even at 10m away, be it because of poor hit detection or unbelievably large pellet spread, and when you figure you have no range beyond that nor any body armour and you have to wait a decent amount of time between shots, it's, if you'll pardon the pun, hit-and-miss. Nice when it works, though. I certainly get killed by it in one shot often enough in Wake. :p

This gun is woeful. The only thing it has going for it is a certain "cool factor", i.e. blowing someone's face off with a shotgun. Other than that, it has no use in combat unless you're playing a map in which everybody has to navigate a narrow maze-like pathway, with no spaces more than 2m³.

Sure, like the video you posted proved, it's awesome.. when you're behind 4 guys with their backs turned to you. But then again, so is every gun in that situation.

Put it this way, at 3m, there's a slight chance you may kill me, and a substantial chance I'll kill you with a burst from my g36e. Anything at all over 3m - and I'll definitely win, up to the kind of distance where the BF2 fog extends to (what's that, about 350m?).

I know what gun I'd rather have...

First, you're assuming that I'm not good with the gun, which is incorrect
Second, it doesn't matter how good you are with the gun. Your skill doesn't affect the solid facts on how bad the gun really is.

2 fresh players, give one 50 hours to practice with the m11, and one 50 hours to practice a automatic/carbine. On any map (apart from one where you're locked in a small, compact room ) the m11 will get raped.

Even at extreme close range, the "prime" zone for the m11, an F2000 user (for example) will emerge victorious.

M11-87 has longer range than you might think :) It feels a tad unreliable though sometimes, one time I'm headshooting a guy 30 meters away in one shot and another time it takes 3 shots up close to do any damage what so ever.

It works great when capping the first flag in Karkand, unless you get teamkilled by your team spamming nades

Well, if your saying that the gun sucks past 3 meters, you clearly dont know how to use it. The gun will kill you in one shot up to 20 meters. After that its 2+ shots, although sometimes you might get lucky. So unless you will hit me in the head with your G36E, i will assrape you at below 20 meters
