CoD4 "Sensations"

I figured I'd post this in hopes of reassuring myself that it is not simply me who experiences this.

CoD4 - unlike some of the other games I play - seems to bring upon sensations through it's atmosphere, layout, etc.

These sensations are very well played out throughout the Single Player campaign - example: In the sniper mission (after "the shot") it really feels like a Black Hawk Down type situation when you are holding off waves of enemies. The music, the atmosphere, it all culminates in a "sensation" unlike that I've ever experienced in another game.

Similarly, in multiplayer I sometimes feel these sensations. If I'm playing with ~20 people and suddenly the gun fire dies down and I can't spot friendlies or enemies, I get a weird sensation like I'm being watched - and that I'm all alone against some unknown enemy.

Do any of you guys get similar sensations when playing?

The first time I played through Single player, I had a stupid grin on my face the whole way through from just how cool it was. Its one of the most atmospheric games Ive ever played. 'All Ghillied Up', when theyre combing the field, I found myself hardly daring to move in my seat. Its just.. whoah. I want a single player expansion. Now.

I agree, the SP is very immersive and the MP isn't bad either.

Dude, I'll have nights on CS, when every shot hits, your getting the luckiest shots, and everyone seems to fall right into your gunfire.

Sooooo many "WTF!" moments.

Then other nights... I just plain out suck.

But CoD4 SP, was amazing... The most immersive game I've ever played.

yes "sensations" or 'vibe" through the whole thing, even MP.


COD4 kicks ***, many opinions on this, but COD4 is way more immersive, in MP or SP than Battlefield ever was. Dont get me wrong, i love me some BF, but COD4 is just where its at 4 me, even after i rank out.:nod::shock::yay:

I agree with what many of you have said as well. I love single player in COD4, kept me on the edge of my seat much of the time. I would definitely play a SP expansion.

when i first got the game, i played SP for 5 hours straight, and i had dreams taht i was a British Special Air Service....

The single player was so very fun to play. The fact that you can bash dogs in the face and knife people is so awesome and the sniper missions are absolutely UBER!

Every time I play multi player I love it but I still am yet to complete single player, I just find it boring.

But that bit at the feris wheel is one of the best points in the game, i can see what you mean, i dont get sensations just a little bit tense.

damn i played that mission w/o sniper rifle. i made the dumb mistake of replacing the sniper rifle you start with with some other assault rifle and was regretting it the whole mission.:dead:
