newbie question

I'm struggling on the fact i have no idea how i unlock my first gun.
Can anyone enlighten me on this querie.

You get unlocks at specific times when you 'level up' you rank from gaining experience points from playing on ranked online servers. For instance you get your first unlock at Lance Corporal (500 points). If you have the expansion pack 'Special Forces' you get an additional unlock for every time you rank and receive an unlock (2 unlocks).

Easiest way to get points and learn the game as a newbie is to stick with a large squad. You find out quicker what's going on as you can follow their lead.

thats true, plus it helps you find the game more enjoyable (in my opinion) if you are starting out and there are people to help you =)
