Help with headset

For some reason, I cannot use my headset to talk to people. I know it works, and I can hear fine, but I don't know. The manual says it is BEST to have it plugged in when the game installed, but I didn't and when it said to like measure it out and stuff when installing the game, i plugged it in, but nothing happened. and when i go to options and audi, it doesnt pick up my mic. Help is appreciated.:salute:

First off, check that your mic is working correctly under Windows, plugged into the correct socket etc...

Assuming that is the case, go to your BF2 install directory, and locate the file BF2VoiceSetup.exe

Run this and see if setting up the mic this way helps.

If there are still problems, I have heard about, but not tested, the following:

Run the file DXDIAG.EXE (in the Windows\System32\ folder).
Select the Sound tab, and on the Hardware Sound Acceleration Level slider, move it down a step at a time. Test / setup the mic after each movement of the slider. If this does not fix the problem, move the slider back to the original position.

Did you plugg it in the right hole?

Green = Speakers
Pink = Mic

Control Panel > Sounds & Devices > Voice tab > click the options button in voice playback will bring up the mixer window,

Click Options > Advanced Options, an advanced box should appear under Mic and the tickbox should be ticked,, click the advanced and enable the mic booster,

In BF2 Audio Options there should be an option to enable the a booster there aswell.
