Its besides me as to why people OPT to be SL and never issue orders! So i generally make a custom squad labelled as 'teamwork' invite random people because no one joins and shoot some orders. 8/10, they listen and work as a team. Really profitable gameplay and enjoying. I've never had someone constantly EMP me though lol, sounds rather disturbing.
Why are there so many morons?!

I ran around EMPing my clan mates for a whole round, that was HILARIOUS :p
Next round, I decided to only EMP Vehicles. Made over 100 Points, using nothing but EMP Grenades and a FAV :p No, it wasn't lame padding, it was squad play. My other mates would play as Engineer or Assault, and we went around SHREDDING the map with but a 3 man squad. Good times (Yesterday :p)Comment

i do that whenever i see someone die i go and switch to my defib, no matter the costOriginally posted by sempfi think there are so many morons because they arent good enough to get the teamwork done. everybody always think first of themself(would you revive a guy who has an enemie nade on his face?). but for most people there comes no second think, because they suck to much in the game(and irl). if you see someone with a very low rank(recruit is the best) stay with him in a squad and help him with the game. most of the time they will do suicide actions for reviving you.(or do what you ask them to do).Comment
-
i revive people as much as possible but well sometimes its impossible(seems to happen lots of the time now everyone runs into the enemie and dies leaving me to kill the entire team). but first kill the guy(s) around you and then revive. or make sure your team pins them down. nothing sucks as much as dieng whilst reviving people and not get revived by your team.Comment

Reviving is only useful when it is balanced by some level of THINKING. Most medics do not engage in this practise.
Seriously - blindly charging into a fire zone to revive a teammate is utterly idiotic, and in most cases against any reasonably intelligent player is going to cost you a life, and your teammate an extra 10 or 15 seconds of inactivity. Doing this is not heroic - it is merely foolish.
Smart players understand and recognise that corpses are a magnet for stupid medics, and they WILL take advantage of you if you indulge them. Remember, you have to be right next to someone to revive them, and this makes you fodder for any area damage weapon.
Many times, when facing a single target at long range, I've gotten the kill, waited about two seconds, fired two or three PK-74 rockets at the corpse, and gotten..three more kills (the original target again, plus two medics rushing to revive). If you see a friendly corpse nearby, the odds are very, very low that he died of natural causes. Why not investigate the area briefly, look around, neutralise any threats, and THEN revive your teammate? He's not going anywhere, I can promise you that much.
Blindly reviving instead of actually fighting feeds your enemy easy kills, and costs you time and resources. Only do revives when you are certain the area is clear. By getting yourself killed trying something stupid, you gain a revive point (maybe), but both of you lose a ticket for your team in the end. It's a net loss for the team - one unnecessary death that could have been avoided with a little brainpower.Comment

:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Another thing to remember is that the guy that just got killed, more than likely damaged the enemy soldier, making for an easier kill for you, plus a revive. You have 15 seconds, just think about it for a couple of those. If it is someone in your squad, ask them in VOIP how much time they have left. It helps you plan what you are doing if you know you still have 10 seconds left to get to them.Comment

Note to self: Don't rez diamond.
I hardly EVER get Rezzed as it is, so I am always grateful when someone gets me up. Two heads are better than one for taking out an enemy, and a fast medic will get his mate up and then get the hell out of there pretty quick. If your not a good player, I don't care what you do.Comment

Two heads? Keep in mind, one of those heads is probably in the spawn screen when you rez him, and the other doesn't have a ranged weapon equipped. Regardless of how fast you are, you still need to be in close proximity - and unarmed, for all intents and purposes - to revive, and when there is an enemy in the area who possesses a brain, this is plenty of an opening to kill you. Unless you can pluck PK rockets out of the air, dodge bullets or throw grenades back, then speed is simply irrelevant.Note to self: Don't rez diamond.

I'm more interested in my team winning the round than my own stats, personally. Dying is part of the game. If I have to wait 15 seconds to get back into the fight so that a teammate can hold a position and play smart, so be it. Reviving without at least FINDING the enemy (and declaring him non-threatening, for whatever reason) is foolish. Chances are he is hurt from his previous fight - it is typically an easy finish AND a revive for you, instead of a reckless revive and probable death for both of you.Comment

Speed is 100% Relevant... If you walk in there, rez and just stand there PKs and bullets will eat you... But if you dash in, Rez and then go back to your hiding spot you will be fine. Unless were you were to start out is compromised, then you are dead regardless of if you go for the rez or not. Speed is what its all about, and if you are in your spawn screen then shame on you for not paying attention.Comment

Certainly true, and no one's arguing that you're going to die if you simply stand there. But the point is that whether you are moving or not, you have to be close to the person to revive. Good players on the other side know how to take advantage of that and kill you, either before or after the revive. How fast you are doesn't matter when you're going toward a fixed position that an enemy is aiming at.
No, I can virtually assure you you won't be fine if you're up against a competent player. Again, speed is irrelevant because the issue is the position you must travel to in order to accomplish the revive. Good players will kill you when you reach that position - whether you walked or ran to get there matters little. But if you dash in, Rez and then go back to your hiding spot you will be fine.
No, if you start out compromised you are in a fight, and you have a chance to win it the same as any other fight. Best to finish that fight before you go reviving.Unless were you were to start out is compromised, then you are dead regardless of if you go for the rez or not.
Certainly agreed, but we're talking about reviving the average player here. The average player is in their spawn screen, let's face it :Pand if you are in your spawn screen then shame on you for not paying attention.
I still say reckless revives cause more harm than good - whether you are quick on it or not isn't the issue so much as is the fact that you must be right next to them to revive. It is ALWAYS safer and more efficient to neutralise the threat first. You're no good to your team lying on your back with an eighth hole in your head.Comment

Your in a clan, so I am sure you have played in some sort of League... I speak from experience here, those who concentrate on revives more than kills win.
I have been on the losing side of such a battle... >mace< concentrated on revives, while we (=L13=) concentrated on kills. Overall, we had 3 TIMES the amount of kills that mace had. And yet mace won. How? Revives! No matter how far away, no matter the danger, they would keep each other up.
I don't know what your experience in 2142 has been like, but for me Revives will always be my #1 Priority as an assault player.Comment

Ah, then here's where our difference arises from. Different techniques apply in league play, and that's an environment that changes pretty much everything. Not nearly the levels of idiocy there.Originally posted by FingulfinYour in a clan, so I am sure you have played in some sort of League... Killing isn't enough. Note my own anecdote about 'following up' on kills where there is legitimate suspicion of a revive about to happen. It's important not only to get kills, but to advance on ground to break up groups of enemies and prevent revives. This keeps enemy tickets steadily flowing downward. If two groups of enemies simply stand there shooting at each other, then of course the team that can revive better is going to come away with the win. That's just common sense.I have been on the losing end of such a battle...
Winning will always be mine. In most environments, that means playing the best odds and eliminating the threat before reviving.I don't know what your experience in 2142 has been like, but for me Revives will always be my #1 Priority as an assault player.
I'm going to revive you if the area is clear and the threat's gone. Don't think I'm just going to leave you there if there's an opportunity to save a ticket for the team. I'm not a sadist :laugh:Comment

Revives are situational.
There is also an art to being revived. Keep an eye on the minimap for that brave medic icon heading towards you and be ready run for cover or return fie.
There's nothing worse than getting a teammate up then watching as they just lie there admiring the ground.Comment

what pisses me off is when i am squad leader and issue an order and then some squadling that has been with me the whole time is like "whats next sir?" 30 seconds after i gave the order. AND then there are also these NOOOOBS who come to revive you but instead of sprinting at you, diving and zapping you quickly, they stumble up to you, cant figure out which button is for the DEEFIB  and then get taken out because they are such an easy target and then you are both unquestionably DEAD. Niiiice.Revives are situational.

the worst thing to see is if they stand there for a few seconds. then see you lieing(spelling?) there and in the last few seconds before respawn they select derfib and than somehow always fail to derfeb you till you are death, or that they die the moment they revive you(eg get killed by a nade)Comment
