    Knife Skilz

After some practice, im getting better at knifing, but it still takes 1to 2 misses to kill someone. what is the best position for knifing (prone, crouch, standing) and how close do u need to get to kill someone.

I use the bunny hop dive technique

and it takes 1-2 trys because it's a lag thing.

The knife always kills at the longest point of the sweeping action of the blade; so that's how you judge the kills. eg:face to face with your enemy, farthest away when directly facing him because the arc is longest in the center. The arc is also long at the beginning, and shortest at the left side.

So if your right on top of your enemy or running into him, make sure to look a bit to the right so you finish with your arc at your left side.

          ^^^ What he says....

Judge you knifing distance and it should always be one stab, one kill. Being little too far out may get you a second chance, but too close and any "ding" against a hard surface may give you away resulting in a face full of lead. Needless to say knifing works best when being sneaky and opportunistic. In some case you can rush 'em (when they reload, etc). When in doubt, empty a clip into them. And remember that some people have hardware driven sound support (sound cards) which means they may hear you sprinting up to them.

As for stance when knifing, insta-prone or crouching, aim for the leg area. Don't know why but there seems to be a better hit reg. If they draw their knife and it turns into a knife fight....bunny hop, circle, crouch, circle, repeat whiltst stabbing like no tomorrow. Still have fond memories of a very long knife fight at Train Wreck on Karkland with some guy....both of us leaping and ducking like maniacs till one of us scored the killing blow (BTW, I won....and it was a good fight). Now I rarly knife unless it's a more or less guarenteed kill.

I'm not trying to boast but most of the time I can get people with 1 swipe. Basic rule is once you click, move your mouse with their body. Just remember that rule. Plus my practice in BF2142 knifing(No knife servers lul) helped a lot.

use prone all the time with crouch instantly after to get back up. This helps you avoid your opponants knife whilst giving you extra range. Also aim for legs, rarely get amoke then. (better to have prone and crouch on side mouse buttons to allow you to press whilst using the movement keys)

I consider myself to be a top knifer. I'll knife anyone. Half the time when someone pulls a gun, I stab em. The real trick is to get them on the run. If they're scared, they're gonna die.
