  • Airstrike lag

So I got COD4 a week or so ago (I think I saw Dairuka today but I'm not sure).

Anyway, I like the mp, except that I totally freeze up during airstrikes. This is extremely annoying since they are called in nearly every minute or two.

I hardly ever lag in any other part of the game, just those damned jets. Is there any graphics option I can turn off in the console to help alleviate the problem? I notice that the lag comes from right when the cluster bombs burst into bomblets, so I guess it's not from the jets themselves?

A mate of mine had this problem, ended up being his wireless connection couldn't keep up, but thats just the shoddy internet in this part of the the UK, so im sure thats not the problem your having

I've heard that Antivirus programs can interfere, have you tried with them turned off?

Not much help i know. :salute:

Turn graphics down, and turn off "Soften Smoke Edges".

None of them are the answer,

          SLEEP YOUR ANTIVIRUS!

Its a pain to have to keep doing it, but gets rid of all airstrike lag.

Do a search in SUPPORT about this also. There are a number of different fixes for different people.

The anti virus bug doesnt seem to effect everyone which is why it is not well known, system specs have nothing to do with the AV problem.

Airstrikes can lead to severe bandwidth spikes, so no, it is not a CPU or GPU problem, but anything that interferes with bandwidth (AV, FW, Porn downloads.. you name it).

Just learnt this, tried to play COD4 with my utorrent on, was fine until airstrikes and choppers.
