I have a fairly older setup amd 3500+ 2 gigs of ram xfx 7600 gt,game plays ok.Do u think it would be worth the money to buy a nice sound card.Will it help performance at all,I also figured when I upgrade to a new computer I could use the card on my new rig.

I am running with a X-Fi Fatality sound card and to be honest I don't really think I benefit from it in BF2, BF2 doesn't seem to like the advanced sound options being activated. I think in newer games you can hear the effect of the card but that's only really in sound quality. I don't jump about the separate sound configs with card (gaming/entertainment etc) so im not really sure if that adds much more of an edge either. -

There are switcher programs you can download that will enable you to switch modes with hotkeys. Personally, I just leave mine in game mode most of the time. I only change it to entertainment when I'm watching movies on my TV and using my surround speakers.Comment
