Game freezes when I use knife

Sometimes, when I use knife, (click alt for me) the game suddenly freezes. No warning, the picture just freezes halfway through the knifing motion, and I can't get out of the dead game, forcing me to reset the computer. I tested it out again, and after knifing the air 4 times, on the 5th try, the same thing happened- the game dies. Is anyone else having this problem? And if so, how did you fix it? (if you did.)

Note: This happens in Single Player and Multiplayer. I tested it in Mile High Club, I keep running up to and knifing the first guy, and it sometimes dies.

Check if windows or another program has an action assigned to that key.

Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Disable everything in the first tab

Hit you Alt key 5 times went out of game, it should pop up a message asking you if you want to deactivate this.

isnt that the shift key?

It's the shift key by default, but it also has something to do with ALT and CTRL... just deactivate everything to be sure, you don't need these functions anyway.

Yea, the ALT key is used in windows for various things. m_d is right on what you need to do.
