    ^ Follow that link.

You'll find that High doesn't always mean best looking and medium will give you and FPS boost.

But 40-60 FPS should be just fine. As long as your dipping into sub-30's during artillery or bombs you should be ok.

You don't want to fluctuate in games, especially online agmes. If your pc goes to only 60fps in some areas and back to 30 its always best to lock it at the lowest of the two as fluctuating can cause the image to appear to be sluggish.

Turn it off, no music in game is good music :P

What graphics settings are you using? I have a similar system except with only 1 gig of ram and a GeForce 6600 (which I think is an inferior card to what you've got). I'm able to get around 100fps if I set my graphics to low but turn up the view distance all the way and set my resolution to match what I have. I think you should have no problems playing on medium settings and possibly even on high.

I have everything on high @ 1280x1024 and get 100fps constant as i have locked it at this. I unlocked the fps and was getting over 300 lol. But 100fps is far more than enough for me.

I get 80-100+ easily at maxed GFX, 8xAA, 1400X1050 resolution.

                  AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+
                  3 gigs DDR2
                  8800 GTS 320mb

Try turning textures to med if you didn't. Or set everything on low and work your way up slowly until you get nice frame rates.

A word of advise if you are going to try the above. After you make the changes and if it goes through the "optimizing shaders" bit, every second or third time it does that it would be a real good idea to go to,

                      My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

and delete all folders in the cache folder. Reason being is that get enough of them in there and it will start to have a negative affect on performance; instead of trying to read from just the one folder, the game reads from all of them as it loads.

Whoa, calm down. He was just answering you're original question.

From what I've heard, that card should just be able to run on high. If it's not, or if you're uncomfortable running at <40 FPS, lower some settings to medium and take the advise given on these sites:
