I'm assuming it's the same as the 2/2142 one? I doubt DICE would use the Frostbite engine for a game that "can run on your grandma's laptop" and releasing it for free. BF2 engine already supports 3rd person. Maybe a watered down BF2 engine?

I doubt it was optimized for cell-shaded graphics, so I imagine it's a proprietary engine. -
maybe its a watered down Frostbite, i'm guessing that if Frostbite is a good engine to run with more realistic graphics maybe if they use it with cell shading it will be alot less hardware demanding, BFH could be like a beta test for the frostbite engine.Comment

IIRC, they talked about members who worked on BF2 working on BF:H and said something along the lines of "...so they know the engine well", which, if correct, implies it's the fabulous BF2 engine.Comment

i don't know if you ever hit the "change camera" button in 2142, but the game also allows for 3rd person viewing as well...

There was a commander bug where you did a few things and you ended up viewing, running around and shooting in third person, so the engine does support it

BF2 sandbox has 3rd person view. It wouldn't be that hard to take the 3rd person view code from vehicles and apply it to infantry would it?Comment
