Decrease font size?

my biggest gripe with this game is the huge texts in-game that takes up too much screen real estate when running the game in lower resolutions. with console messages popping up all the time, it's really distracting and takes away from the gaming experience. is there any way to decrease the font size? why can't they scale it down so that the text looks small like when you run the game in high-res? is there a console command for this?

hmm never had problems whit it. i dont think you can do enything about it. The only thing is to get a bigger screan a gues :)

You can try changing this line in your config_mp:

seta cg_hudChatPosition "5 204"

The two numbers correspond to veritcal and horizontal position (not sure which is which). You can at least move the messages out of the way.

It's x (horizontal) y (vertical).

When I run the game in 1024*768 I get HUUUUGE text messages.

When I run the game in 1152*864 (which I usually do) I get really small chat messages that can be hard to see sometimes :p

Try to run it at a smaller/higher resolution and try to see if it changes.

i can't, it will run too choppy then. i am running in lower resolution not because i want to, but i have to for performance reasons.

I especially hate the long/colorful server messages.
