Have EA taken out the rank Sgt Maj of The Corps?!

Huh? There was only one when EA awarded them. You must be mistaken.

The Sgt Major of the Corps rank was removed through a patch back in late 2005, when EA expanded the ranking system.

No they have not, it was discussed of the BF podcast, episode 78 I believe, the SMOTC has not been removed, best player of overall stats ans points of each month and is given to that player.

You won't find a single player with the Sgt Major of the Corps ranks. The only rank that is given to a new player each month is 4-Star General. The SMOTC rank still exists on Third-Party Ranking systems, but not EA's.

as far as I remember, EA took that rank out when they added the officer ranks (2LT+) a bunch of patches ago.
