Multiplayer problem.

Hey,

I recently got a new computer and I reinstalled CoD4, I can play Singleplayer fine but when I start Multiplayer I crash right away. Here is the error.log:

But how about free HD space and virtual memory? that is mentioned several times in the error messages.

Try a full reinstall and a patch it. The first thing I notice is missing DLL file.

Swapfile, but Vista out to manage that well enough for you to be able to play, as long as you have free disk space.

I posted your problem at overclcok.net and here's what they said.

WOW...he got all of those errors?? Sounds like he needs to re-install and make sure his DX is installed and updated. If he just got the pc, did he make sure he updated to the latest audio, video, and sound drivers? If its a store bought pc, chances are the drivers are out of date. I know he said he can play SP just fine but still, with all those errors something aint set up right.

I have the latest sound card drivers according to windows, and graphics card I know I do. But another odd thing, I reinstalled CoD2 for fun and when I opened up multiplayer I got the same error. If anyone has any suggestions, please tell!

What about other games, Chern?

All the other games I have played so far work fine; Crysis, BF2, Company Of Heroes. It is just the Call of Dutys.

There was another post about the Realtek audio being flaky on CoD. Updating the drivers seemed to work for them. As for you not being sure what to get, your going to have to do some research on what you have for your system. Check out your motherboard/PC manufacturer website, they may be able to tell you exactly what you have.

I updated my Realtek drivers that the Acer site gave me, but I still get the problem. I think if I can't fix it soon, I might call in pro help.

Acer Smacer, you need to go to Realteks site and double check this stuff. I build my own system and use an ASUS motherboard. If I only used the drivers from there, I would have year old chipsets and 5 year old nic drivers.

If you have the Realtek AC97, for instance, they are on version 4.03. It doesnt hurt to double check this stuff.

Of course, being a professional technician myself, I can understand someone needing money and maybe you should just call in a pro and he will charge you to do this.
