Mainly my question is if it is still worth it to get BF2, since I have 2142 and have been seeing a lot about BF2 and wondering now if it is still worth getting, mostly in the way of number of servers, how full the servers are, how easily it is to find a good game, etc

It's definitely worth it, Many ppl still play BF2. You won't be disappointed. -
2142 and BF2 are pretty simliar so if u have like 10000 hours in 2142, u mite find BF2 that interesting, but imo its a pretty good game.Comment

I wouldn't buy it to play BF2 but to play its mods. BF2 now is full of whores who are only bothered about upping their ranks and not teamplay.Comment

Nothing wrong with stats anyway.. I enjoy having some metrics to chart my improvement. The people who are imbeciles and give stats a bad name are the ones who think that going support and tossing nades on karkand for 6 hours a day so they can get 750k points makes them skilled. Which it obviously doesnt.
EdiT: to the OP - get it, you wont regret it.. still a load of fun, still loads of servers, still consistently 5th in the xfire top 10 most played games. It'll give you a nice warm up for BF3 which should hopefully be out later this year.Comment

Even though the more recent patches have ruined some really fun aspects of BF2, it's still worth playing. I think it's still my favorite PC game. I'd get the Deluxe Edition or Complete Collection so you could also have the Special Forces expansion, which is really cool IMO (which I've played a lot less than Vanilla because of the lag/really long loading times).
You don't have to have the expansion though and getting plain ol' BF2 for just $10 is more than worth it. I payed $40-50 for my copy and although I haven't played it as much as other people have, I felt like I got my money's worth.Comment
