I sent Kveto a note, but here in North America, Feb 10 is Super Bowl Sunday. If your not familar with it, you could say it is America's equal to FIFA World Cup? Everyone on this side of the Atlantic is going to be busy. Sorry games might take aways from someone's social life, there are people here with families also that get put to the side for these kinds of matches also.

For maps, we were looking to go the same format we had used with BF2s and BF2player.com. That would be 3 maps. 2 rounds of Daqing/Oman/Dalian, 2 rounds of Mashturr, and 1 round of Fushee (which is a good tie breaker). It would be the best 3 out of 5 map wins.

Our thought is that the first map we play is Daqing. It is balanced and since unlocks are allowed, it does not matter whom is China because the map has the F18. We are still discussing it, but that might be our first choice.

Second, we want Mashtuur for the follow up map. Since it is an infantry oriented map it takes the air power out of it.

Third, if it comes down to a tie and we need to fifth round, we though Fushee would be a good tie break, because both sides have the F18/J10 and a balance of attack helos.

We'll discuss the date more, as I have to gather all the people that signed up and see if they can do Sunday instead of Saturday.

But, Clean Sweep is not an option for us. Some of us joke about it, but is not worth the time debating it.

As for the multi-week match idea, well, just as it was brought up that Saturday night is our time to go out and drink and get goofy, the same logic would apply to people here that can't devote every weekend of their lives to a videogame. Half of the guys on this team are adults that do have responsibilities also, so we are oriented to one match. If a rematch is in order for some reason, we might entertain it...but no promises.

ok, so you want to play at most five rounds on one day. originally, we had completely another idea of this match and we wanted to play for longer period of time (couple weeks).. but if it is your wish and you do not want to spend on it more than one day, I dont think there is any reason to persuade you for something different :)

in that case, we need to agree on very specific time. in case we are going to play five rounds and one takes 40 minutes, that means 200 minutes of pure play time (unless one team defeats other by capturing all flags, which is unlikely). + 10 minutes before each game as a pause for tactics, doing toilet stuff, taking some beverage etc. that means 250 minutes of play time, which is more than 4 hours long game.

so that means, if we start at 17:00 GMT (our timezone is GMT+1, thus 18:00), we will not be finished before 22:00 GMT+1 .. which we would like to keep to be the latest time we will be finished.

anyway, will you be ready and willing to play at 17:00 GMT, or earlier? only suitable day is Sunday. Since the match is going to take place only on one day, we do not care if it is during superball weekend or one-two weeks later.



as for the maps:
first, i do not think any map is unbalanced for any team, since each side is going to play for each team. by playing really tough rounds, such as clean sweep or wake island, you have chance to show your creativity and teamplay. Plus it is much more entertaining, by trying to figure out how to get our from the corner..
second, i would like to discuss about maps, not just to state them by one side. you dont like clean sweep or karkand, thats okay, but we do not like dagging oilfield and fushe pass. is there any other map we can agree on? what about dalian plant, dragon valley, zatar wetlands, maybe gulf of oman?

this is proposal, still, as we are going to play maybe only two maps, I would like to make it as agreement of both sides (not one side ordering the other one).
