AWE 4 v1.0 Released

i noticed this on the homepage and i had a few questions about it -- this mod seems really cool (implementing health packs even, i dont remember how many times i wished i could call a medic) - but i was wondering

DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF THE GAME TO PLAY? i thought i did for tactical night mod but it downloaded automatically when i joined. is the "DOWNLOAD NOW" FOR AWE 4 just for people running servers im guessing?

has anyone tried this mod out? (i dont know how old the mod is, i just read it and im kind of hyped up about it)

AWE on previous CoD versions was great

Normally the client was updated via http redirect ie you downloaded it when you joined a server.

No harm in installing it though if you can do that.

Well it seems like a powerful tool for the server owners, but I fear that it will make it even harder to guess what the custom rule set is when you join a random server.

A better server browser could fix this, but......
