Is 1.40 the last patch for BF2142?

As per title, is 1.40 the last patch for BF2142? OR, amongst other things, can we expect the kit selection issues to be fixed?

2142 is hardly dead. My clan's server is busier now than it ever has been and is slowly moving up in ranking on game-monitor.com.

I know of several who have raced up through the ranks on COD4 and are already bored with it and have since returned to bf2142.

The last word out of EA I believe was that 1.40 would be the last patch. Of course we can always hope for another one to fix a few of the still remaing bugs. I doubt the server stability issue will ever be resolved.

As for the game being dead, I don't think so. Our servers continue to do well and we are still seeing brand new players joining so there are people out there that are still buying the game. I think as DarkRing said, you will see people coming back to 2142 after the newness of some of the other games wears off. I have Clanmates that have COD4 on PC, PS3, X-Box360 and while they like the single player missions on it, the online play just does not provide the teamwork factor that you can get out of 2142.

Edit: Just checked and the last two games that came out that were going to "Kill" this game, ETQW and Crysis, are both not doing so well. Right now on Game-Monitor: online players: BF2142 - 7386 players with 1445 servers, ETQW - 1602 players with 1077 servers, Crysis - 1163 players with 448 servers. While COD4 continues to enjoy success and I think will for a long time, it really fits more of the run-n-gun style of lone wolf playing that some people like and some don't. We have had a couple of people join our clan because theirs moved on to COD4 and they wanted to stay with BF2142 so I don't think that COD4 will really hurt this game that much.

Oh and btw a BF2142 Deluxe edition is coming to stores soon, so EA still cares somewhat (or they're just trying to make more money)

I noticed some people complaining about the kit saves not working and a DICE developer responded that the kit saves are being looked in to (???) or something along those lines.

Also note that EA is hiring 2 community managers.

IMO what'll really breathe life into this game is by releasing a map editor which allows user-made maps to become ranked (so those who are not brig. gen. will be willing to play on these maps).

Kitsaves really shouldn't be a problem to code at all. It wouldn't even be a problem to make map-specific kitsaves. I really don't want to know who coded them.

Ever wondered why that is? A lot of ppl disappeared, a lot of servers disappeared, few servers = more ppl on the servers that are there.

And 1.40 is the last patch, EA even said that somewhere, they are moving on and making some sort of CnC Renegade 2.

Kitsaves really shouldn't be a problem to code at all. It wouldn't even be a problem to make map-specific kitsaves. I really don't want to know who coded them.

Go to My Documents>BF2142>Profiles>000001 and set the profile.con thing to read only, bang, kit randomizer fixed.
