Are there any good jet fighter games?

I want to play a jet fighter game (either free to download and play online, or one bought from the store). I'm not talking about microsoft's flight sim. Something like the dog fighting in BF2, just... better. Modern jets, no WW2.

Are there any of these? I searched at IGN but I couldn't find any. I have Ace combat for my PSP, and that's what kind of game I'm looking for, but for PC.

if you want uber realism, check out falcon 4.0 allied force, or 5.0 if they have one

Well there are a couple underground Falcon mods much better than AF, but I can't really elaborate on that. I think the legal and free ones are just as good as AF though, so if you somehow manage to get a copy of the original 4.0 for cheaper that would maybe be a better buy. Lock On is also pretty good BTW and has better graphics.

F22 Lightning, Raptor were funny back in the days. You should be able to download them in a few minutes. :)

Lock On: Modern Air Combat is probably the most widely played and available jet sim. :)

yeah I tried the demo for lock on, and it was pretty neat, but it was a sim. the same applies for falcon 4.0. I'm looking for something more like ace combat. i appreciate the suggestions, though.

If you have a X360 then I would suggest AceCombat 6, its arcade but very stunning to look at. As for LOMAC its your best option for a modern combat sim. Most if not all combat sims have an element of simulation to them. Falcon 4 is a pure sim with bombs, F4 is when you want to get realy technical with your flying. And as for dogfighting on BF2 thats just micky mouse stuff.

                    I don't have a 360

Has ace combat ever been on the PC? I have Ace Combat: Skies of Deception for my PSP, and it's exactly what I'm looking for. I just want one with the latest graphics for PC... but I guess I have to wait for one to be released!
