Weapon unlock surprise

I came back after almost half a year and soon after 10 minutes of fighting with kill assist, I got promoted to Sergeant and have 2 weapons unlock. I chose the sniper rifle and 1 assualt rifle.

I don't think other games are or will be offering such global ranking system with unlocks. I lobe BF series!

Any chance for BF3 and would that be something better than Fuel of War?

In Call Of Duty 4 has a global ranking system. Almost same then BF2, but the last rank is a 5 star. And you get unlocks every time you get a promotion in COD4 too :) Not every but almost.

I think with one of the patches, the requirements for certian ranks were changed, which resulted in everyone getting a couple of extra unlocks.

I wonder if I got it. I don't think I've played in a ranked server in a while, just before or since the outage. I've been sticking to the demo because it hasn't been bogged down by "patches" and "upgrades." Maybe I'll get a 2,000 point surprise when I get my real computer hooked back to the internet(long story).

every respected game since bf2 has a global ranking system.
RTS games have had that even ealrier.

Um no, the games that currently offer ranking are failures, except for BF2 and BF2142 (which lies in a quantum superposition of fail and epic fail).

And old RTSs didn't have rankings, they had ladders and they usually reset the scores every 40 days or so.
