How do i set my server?

hi, i have recently bought a cod server but i have been told there is no cc for it like with battle field, the control panel does not have any part where i can alter messages, maps, game modes how do i do this?

Everything in COD4 gets done by editing the config & startup line.

First decide whether you want a ranked or modded server. Because they get set up very differently, but don't worry you can't accidently unrank your server by changing a certain dvar.

Messages have to get scrolled using PB on a ranked server. A mod can do it on a modded server.

I suggest you read a lot over at Iwnation , FPSadmin, and RGN. There is a fair amount to know if you want to set up a server that is more than just "stock".

Hey Fusion,

I admin two servers, one regular, one hardcore. I use a tool called ModernRcon thats at codhq.com.

Most the stuff I configure in the config file in the main folder. If you want to know something specific or would like a sample config to work off of, PM me your email address and I will get that to you.

You can go on the servers below to see some of the things I have set up. Also have PB streaming and integrity checks to help stop cheats.
