No Gravity COD4 Server

Did you know you can change the game speed and gravity settings on a COD4 server and have it still ranked. I'm not sure if this was an oversight by IW or not.

It sure is fun stuff though.

Low gravity is hilarious in TF2. Never thought you could do it in CoD4 though.

If you join tonight and request it I can set it up in Rcon quite quickly. All I have to do then is restart the map and the settings will take effect. I think we caught some peeps off guard though when they joined. Most who joined ran for their lives! lol

We were wondering if the community would like to play in a server like this. It's fun flying around and also running lke the flash and knifing. I guess we could give it a shot as long as we have peeps wanting to play in a server like this. The gravity has to be set at the beginning of every map though but the speed stays.

It has to be an intended feature because we all know that IW didn't make any mistakes and if they did, they were surely fixed by now, since there's been 4 patches!

Heres a really dumb question but I will ask it anyway...in COD4 what is the difference between a ranked and non-ranked server? I mean I know the difference but in bf2 the rank files are stored on the mainframe servers where in COD4 they are stored locally on your PC, and if i start a server on my machine will it show up in the browser in game for all to join...anyone know what i mean?

Also since more than half of the COD4 playing world is near or at lvl 55...what is the point of playing ranked servers besides the ability to control the servers settings and kick and ban?

You can still kick/ban on an unranked server.

You get all weapons on an unranked unless they have been restricted.

I also don't think you can complete any challenges or unlocks on unranked servers, even if you're 55.

Actually, I created my own server (in-game) and I got the vandalism challenge completed after blowing up my first car. Seems to work. But others don't.

Also, I don't see anything like Game Speed in my Modern Rcon

You have to enter it in the in-game console. I doubt that a 3rd party program would include something like changing gravity or speed.

I typed it in console too but I didn't know what to type after Phys Gravity.
