    From Game To Desktop Problem

    Hi,

I bought my battlefield 2 game 3 weeks ago, and i have bought my computer 5 months ago, my computer came with vista preinstalled in it, but i didnt like vista, i used vista for about 5 months, then i bought battlefield 2, and i had this problem, during the game only online, my game would just stop, close and i would be taken straight to the desktop. I thought this was the problem because of vista and when u install the game it says it has only been tested on xp.

So i downgraded my pc to xp about a week ago, but i still get this problem, Singleplayer seems to be working fine but not multiplayer i am not sure why.

I have a nVidia 6150 LE Video card, which systemrequirementslab.com says is the right card to play battlefield2, but i am not sure why this happens, can anyone help. Thanks.

First of all Vista isn't the problem, your video card is. There are far more people running BF2 on Vista without problems than with.

Hope you don't have the settings any higher than all low with that 6150LE; which while a damn sight better than Intel's craptacular graphics, still isn't very good.

      this sounds like reynolddog's problem

but first, did you reinstall the game? or did you just copy the game files over when u reinstalled windows.

and second, just to make sure its not some other problem:
      go to

      Start > run > regedit
      then navigate
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE / Software/ Electronic Arts/ EA GAmes/ Battlefield 2/ and see if there is a ergc folder. if there is, click on it once, and double click on (Default) which is to the right and see if there is anything in value data.

damn, well i tried to set it all to low, it didnt exit me to desktop this time very quick, but it started to lag. I guess i need a higher video card. Thanks for the help.

i tried the registery, in the ergc default, the value is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (various letters and numbers)

        wat does that mean?

EDIT: That was your Cd-Key. Don't post it (Admin)

Seeing as it is showing your cd-key (thanks for removing that Alex) unencrypted, also means that you haven't patched to 1.41 yet.
