    massive lag

I bought COD4 the other day and whever I start to load into a server or load up the single player campaign I get massive lag. I'm almost positive it's because of my computer, but I have no idea as far as laptops go.

    HP Pavilion dv6500 Notebook PC
    Nvidia Geforce go 7150
    2 gb ram
    140 gb HD
    AMD Turion64 X2
    Windows Vista Home Premium

I'm not very inclined with computers so that is all I could come up with.
    Any advice is appreciated.

I had all my settings on low and the resolution at like 640X400 and still there was lag. I turned off the Anti Aliasing in the nvidia control panel and there is still huge lag whenever i play with more than 5 ppl.

i too use a pavillion notebook, same as your i think, and i was havvign the same problem: basically, the game would run fine for about 20-30 min but as the bottom of the machine would start to heat up/overheat it would lag like crazy. unfortuantely u cant upgrade theg graphics card/fan on a notebook but there is a way to solve it. at least this worked for me. if you go on amazon and search for "laptop cooler" you can get an external fan (4 min fans actually) that fixed all my problems. basically its comparabe to a 1 inch binder in size, blugs in throught USB, and you just put the laptop on top of it. its very convenient (i play with my notebook on my lap still), and makes very little noise. there also zero installation require as the laptop just sits right on top of it. cheap to, cost my like 30 bucks i think. its llso good for mainting the longterm effectiveness of your machine.....hope that helps....
