    Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance- Who has played it?

    I need some help. Im in mission 5, wiped the map clean and I have to escort Brackmans megabot somewhere. I assume its the QAI mainframe. When I do that, nothing happens. What do I have to do?

    That has got to be this buggiest mission ever. I've played through it five times (once as each faction, and twice with mods), and only the first time did it actually let me advance. (Though, unlike you, mine always got stuck at the beginning of that phase, not the end, i.e., the megabot would never show up, and the map would not expand.)

    Anyway, you have finished the map: you just walk Brackman to the core and then it should become automated at that point with an event and a cutscene (well, dialogue anyway).

    You'll have to enable cheats codes. At the end of you Game.prefs file, just add the following:

    Code:
    debug = {
        enable_debug_facilities = true
    }
    With that, you can now hit a key (Shift-F3 maybe)? to win/end the mission and advance. Check out the map's script (in the maps directory, the .lua file) for the defined debug keys.

      Thanks a bunch. Theres a funny thing. While I didnt advance, I just killed Brackman (well, 2 hours to waste, I at least wanted to have some fun), the mission ended, and the next mission was unlocked.

      I was wondering if playing the mission with other factions would make it work, but seems like its FUBAR anyway... I hope the ending of that mission wasnt important to the story.

        That's just because failing a mission will unlock the next one, too. I guess they put that in there for the hopeless casual gamer. :p (It was in the original, too.)

        The first time through--the only one that didn't glitch--was as the UEF, but I don't think it matters because the fourth time through where I modded a bunch of stuff, it was as the UEF, too, yet it glitched.

        I looked through the map's script file (X1CA_005_script.lua), but I couldn't find anything obvious that prevented the advancement. *shrug*

          You and I need to play a couple multi-player games Chris. (I only have the original, not FA, but I definitely plan to get it soon.)

          I'm getting tired of playing only my Nephew.

            I suck at it. I really do. I had no real interest in the game, but the opportunity presented itsself and I kind of wanted to see what happened with the story after SupCom. When it comes to RTS games, Im a very early sunday fragger. You would probably have more fun with your nephew.

            It takes me about 1.5-2 hours to finish the SP levels on easy difficulty. And I always turtle myself in, beef up economy, mass 3rd tier artillery and mop the remains up with a few experimentals.

              Well, here at least, maybe a couple of these strategy guides'll help.

                I read them through and I was puzzled when these acronyms came into the play, like TMD and TML (which I later recognised as tactical missile defense/launcher). Im definitely keeping my eye on the strats guide. Wish there was more.
