BF2, there's still no game that can outclass it. COD4 I guess, is close and definitely outnumbers BF2 player wise but gameplay = meh. Crysis was a good candidate, ETQW too but look where they are, PR has almost as many players as Crysis 90% of the time and occasionaly more than ETQW.

But how many people that had a computer that was top-of-the-line when BF2 was released can run Crysis without a decent amount of chug?

Not many. Crysis -> BF2 is not a very good comparison.

A lot of games fall short of BF2. It's the only game of it's kind, and now that there's hope for the franchise, it's just going to get stronger.
