How can i improve my Latency (ping)

hey guys i wanted to know how i could improve my latency (ping) in cod4.

it most servers (including my clan css servers) i get around 40 Latency (32 ping)

well in cod4 when i join a server located close to me (east cost) i usally get around 60-90 ping usally around 80-95.

now its still good but it bothers me that its that high. it should be lower.

wanted to know if there are any console commands that i can do that could help me improve my latency (ping)

Unless you're pinging over 175, you're probably not going to have any problems. Also, COD 4 doesn't seem to show the right ping. Cut the ping displayed in half and you probably have an accurate ping. You can also go to the command prompt and ping the server to see what your true ping is.

My servers are located on a dedicated box in VA and I typically ping 20 - 25 on all games except for COD 4. When I join one of my COD 4 servers, it shows 40 - 50 ping.
