A recent conversion

For those who may or may not have played with me, you'll know (or I'll have to tell you, as in, right now) that I am basically a dedicated M16 whore. M16 all day, all the time. One burst kill? Sign me up. However, as of recent, I've noticed a little something about a certain assault rifle. The AK-47. It's... awesome. It's full auto and a two shot kill with stopping power against non-juggernaut. WTF pwn? So, I've recently made a conversion after a day of playing out the AK-47. On certain maps I'll use the AK-47 exclusively, while some maps I'll go between the AK-47 and M16 (red dot, of course, is there any other way?) between offense and defense, and on most maps for most situations I still use my M16. But man... this thing has been under my nose the whole time. I do a lot better with it vanilla I've noticed. I dislike the range and damage hit with silencer, and for some reason the reflex sight seems to make it less accurate.

Officially, I am now M16/AK-47.

Such a good gun...

Anyone else have a similar, or contrasting outlook?

I have always said the AK47 is the best assault rifle, people think its too hard to handle the erratic recoil, well i say learn to handle it, because then you have a seriously deadly weapon on your hands.

I myself use the AK a lot but I haven't noticed the damage reduction from the silencer, as I use it with it exclusively. Usually it's a couple of shots to down a target. At range you just have to single shot and it is just as deadly. I love the sights personally, very clear and nothing above so you can have a nice view of the target.

I personally use it with the Acog as i find the silencer makes it look ugly.

hmm m16 and ak47 are worlds apart when it comes to accuracy. ak47 shakes like crazy compared to the steady m16, i'm surprised a m16 lover likes ak47.

If you like the AK47, you GOTTA try the AK74u. Its in the smg class. The AK47 is a bit tough to weild, bu tthe 74u has some better control. I almost think it should have been in the assault class, its that tough.

the 74u does fire rifle rounds apparently, i think its the size that made it an SMG.

I recently discovered a gun called the MP5. I love it as of now.

Ys, SMG's are somewhat categorized by the round they fire, (usually 9mm), but also in weight.

I like the MP5 but in sights mode it's harder to move adound under full auto then the P90.

I find the AK`s sound teh suck, so I don`t use it. M16 is good enough for me.

I went the other way. I was an AK loving whore until I decided to give the M16 another go. Was using it quite a lot, and now have multiple kits for each.

The silencer is a definite damage hit at range. I only use it on my S&D kit. Other then that, I have an AK/GL and M16/Reflex kit for general play, I also have an M16/ACOG kit I use for maps like Countdown and Overgrown.

Yes, I have four kits with AR's. My last kit is Sniper/P90 OverKill combo I use in HC mode.

yeah used the AK recently and got kills really quickly and rock'd ma socks then unlocked the reddot and found it aweful just didnt feel right so thought bugger that back to the normal iron sights
then tried silencer that decreased the power awefully then got the ACOG and i generally dont like that anyway so i think the attachments are rubbish for it
but with good perks a weapon to go in the history books ohh yeah alredady it so no suprises

Thats the thing with thsi game,right when you think your a master you find a different gun and learn to master it.

Yes they are. That is why I still pick the M16 in most situations for most maps. Nothing beats a precision one burst kill at any feasible range (besides extreme sniper ranges). The M16 is like the KAR from CoD2... get good with it, nothing can stop you. However, the AK-47's two shot kill with stopping power and fully automatic fire make it so dangerous. Yes, it's not accurate. But random spray with this gun will get you quick kills. It's still accurate enough on more claustrophobic maps.
