Battlefield 2 Soldier Name?

So, I noticed in my EA account I can change my BF2 soldier name, from what it says "Edit Soldier Name" and I believe this is because of the purchase of the Armored Fury and Euro Forces booster back.

What I wanted to ask, does this really work and how? Because, I used it to change my name but nothing happened, my name is still as it was before.

Don't know, but in my EA account is says "Edit Battlefield 2 Soldier Name" so I clicked on it and changed it, but nothing changed.

That isn't changing your Soldier Name, it is the soldier name linked to the booster packs that you are changing. If you change the name and try and play the booster packs you will find you can't play them.
It's there in case you have more than 1 player name, allowing you to play your booster packs on various players names. Thre is a limit to how many times you can change this in a week.
