What does low ping mean? I've tried to get into a server and it was for low ping only and I couldn't get in.
What low and high ping mean?

Well that just means that you would've had a high ping. And how your ping is determinded is the location of the server and where you are located. If someone has a server in New York and you are in New Jersey, you would have a relative low ping. If someone has a server in Chicago, and you are in Europe somewhere, then you are going to have a higher ping.

basically, try to get into servers with the lowest ping. As soon as you go to servers with higer pings..about 150+ you start to lag.

it can really depend on where u are located in relation to the server the closer u are to the server the lower ur ping

I dont think its just location, i think it depends on the server and type of connection you have. if you have a ping of 90, then you are behind by 90 milliseconds (.09 seconds).

quick guide.
50 ish, is really quite good
70 ish, above standard
120 ish, is 'do able' 'standard mode' if you like
150 ish, you actually notice the lag ie. you will actively notice not getting kills you would have done with lower ping
180 ish, if you still want to play as this you have to make up for the lag as much as possible, ditch semi and burst weapons and stick with autos. you can still play quite well
210 ish, leave the server, hard to keep 1:1 ratio at this much lag unless its a specially spammy map

During each tick, the server processes incoming user commands, runs a physical simulation step, checks the game rules, and updates all object states. After simulating a tick, the server decides if any client needs a world update and takes a snapshot of the current world state if necessary. A higher tickrate increases the simulation precision, but also requires more CPU power and available bandwidth on both server and client.Originally posted by MicsterWhat does Tick mean?
In essence, a higher tick rate means a faster a refresh rate to client and server.

Thanks, that's all I need to know. :)Originally posted by Keyelite View PostDuring each tick, the server processes incoming user commands, runs a physical simulation step, checks the game rules, and updates all object states. On topic, I can't play right on a ping above 200. Even nearby servers are starting to reach 100ish often.
