Who are you referring to? For me, I haven't made it yet, I'm still trying to get there. You can find the requirements on a forum post here, just do a search for supreme commander rank.

in all fairness (and i love 2142) cod4 is a totally different type of game. but it is kinda getting boring, and i'm not even a 5 star yet

CoD4 is a good game but ulitmately lacks the longevity gamewise for me.

I still pop into 2142, but the release of Project Reality 0.7 has overwhelmed me and taken most of my time since the new year.

Have played CoD4 for 3 weeks exclusively and find it way too easy to rank up. Having said that, the game itself is completely flawless, never had a crash, graphs, weapons and maps (albeit too small) are terrific. Due to the small maps the game gets a bit boring, I guess I'm outta there as soon as I get all the challenges.

Been back to BF2142 yesterday, got 2 crashes within 15 mins and find the place rather deserted. I'm a BG already, so I guess after one year it's time to say goodbye to 2142 and I estimate goodbye to CoD4 in 3-4 weeks.

Next? FFOW, Crysis? Played the FFOW Beta and wasn't really convinced, yet. The map I played was difficult to survey and enemies too spread out, it needs at least 32-42 players. We´ll see. Maybe it´s time for a complete overhaul and bring out 2542?

CoD4 is not epic enough. The graphics are nice and its completely rock solid but the maps are too small and the fights are far too hectic... it's just one big rugby scrum. You're never really able to go on a rambo killing streak session because you'll be naded or cut to pieces by a camper.

I would be interested to see what CoD4 would be like on maps the size of BF's.

that wouldn't work, unless you like the idea of walking for miles and miles to get anywhere. the maps are big because there are vehicles, which CoD lacks.

It's EA, what do you expect, of course they will. From what I know so far it will only run on vista. From what I understand, they have no plans to make it run on XP operating systems. They are only releasing it to work on vista and nothing else. That's just poor planning once again.

Would work on Camp Gibralter or Cerbere Landing, not Minsk or some of the other big ones. Besides, running long distances is ok when you can spawn every 10 seconds, its those games where you die and have to wait until the next game. Wouldn't play games like that on small maps.

true, but what makes BF special is the trademark large environments and vehicular interaction. i don't think it's that easy to make BF type games though, because if it were, we would see more competition for BF type fps game. if it was so easy i think devs like infinity ward would have already tried adding big maps and vehicles to their game.
