Help! Cannot play due to code_post_gfx_mp.ff is different from the server

I've tried installing on my first hard drive but got error 1317 multiple times. So I've installed it on a

fresh hard drive, and downloaded patch 1.4. (Several times from several different sources.) The patch

installs fine. But I can't play the game.

In single player. I get this error:
Cannot write to hunkusage.dat, check disk full.

My disk has plenty of space.

I can't play Multiplayer because I get this:
code_post_gfx_mp.ff is different from the server.

The ...mg.ff message is due to the server you are getting on. It was not patched correctly. We had the same problem with our servers and had to upload the new file to it before we could get on.

Now if it is doing that to all the servers you try to connect to, you may need to download the patch from somewhere else and replace that file.

As for the other file, see if it has the attribute of READ ONLY. You can right click on the file and view its properties.
