freeze before joining a server heeeelp!

When I try to join a game server to play, the game stops. it just freezes. i run vista and all my specs are way past the requirements. I tried running it as admin and that didn't help either. this game was working back before i installed vista; when i was on xp.

But yeah, i can connect to the account server at the beginning fine, its just when i click to get in to play in one of the servers. It just freezes and i have to close is through task manager. it doesn't even give me an error.

LOL I can't believe you posted the whole lot.... clearly you're having problems because at line 225 of your post you wrote Infinite Pin Tee Filter,0x00200000,1,1,,6.06.6000.16386 instead of Infinite Pin Tee Filter,0x00200000,1,1,,6.06.6000.16555... on a serious note:
run bf2 in XP compatibiity mode, allow bf2 in your firewall if it's not allowed, update punkbuster.

i updated pb and allowed it with firewall (which was already set up ok) and xp compatibilty mode... still no worky..

forget about the pin tee filter I was being sarcastic. By the way you have an awesome system it must be frustrating bf2 crashes on you for no reason. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?

okay so i reinstalled the game and updated it aswell. i also updated PB. but nothing has changed.. BUT, when i try to join a server it freezes as usual, and i alt+tabbed out and it says taht i have a memmory error.. what is this? and i also disabled uac aswell.

oh and ps, tahnk you. and yeah it does suck not being able to play games on this thing..

yeha but im trying to find a soultion without resorting to those extreme resolutions. id rather stay on vista, plus its such a struggle to install that kinda stuff. any other way perhaps?

there must be a way. Basically memory errors are one of 2 things: either it's a software problem( very likely) , or it's a hardware problem (very unlikely). I guess you can always eliminate the hardware cause by using your RAM sticks one at a time, it only takes 5 minutes. Otherwise I don't know I hope someone else can help you. I imagine you've looked at other forums, google?

If you have the 32 bit Vista (most likely you do) then you have too much ram and it will cause problems, remove a 1 gig stick and try it (it worked for me).

nah man its 64 bit. and the battlefield is also in a program files(x86) since battlefield is a 32 bit game. and i have 2 gig sticks.

and yeah i looked on google and i also tried to contact ea but their website ALWAYS failed on me. and i went on their forums a week ago. 1 person replied. not with an advice.
