Grappling Hook and Zip Line Question

My question regards the grappling hook and the zip line. my question is since i recently got the special forces edition to battlefield 2 and was looking to get the SF badges i would need to get the grappling hook and zip line badge. so what im asking is if im attempting to get the grappling hook badge, can i throw the hook onto the ground and then pick it back up and do this as many times until i get the badge? or do i need a whole new hook in order for it to count, and that goes the same for the zip line.

    thanks.

From what I remember, you can pick it back up and throw it. It's basically like rearming it.

So yes, that should work. You can test it by checking your stats, doing your idea, then rechecking your stats to see if it worked.

why would you spend your time throwing a grappling hook onto the ground and picking it up again? just play the game, it's (more) fun without badges, i promise.

i tried this out on ghost town, and you need to deploy 10 grappling hooks to get the basic badge, so i threw 10 hooks (picking them up and then throwing again) and did not get the badge. so i guess you have to get a clean, new hook before it will count as one thrown (which would be, you throw it, go into the fight, get killed, throw it, so on, so on)

Wait, it may just be slow updating...

As Hawkers and Aerialz say, you can just throw the grapple onto the ground, pick it up and throw it again. For the Zip Line, you can shoot it into a wall right in front of you, then pick it up and shoot it again.

Check that you were playing on a ranked server. THings do sometimes take a little while to update, and maybe instaed of having to throw it 10 times, you may have to throw it out (say) 12 times in a round before it updates and "thinks" you have thrown it 10 times.

I remember when the original awards came out for those. it was 5000 uses for each expert and some guy had his stats reset for obtaining 2 of those experts in one day.

Just use the grapple/zip in your free time while commanding, but make sure you still do your job...

It was classed as a form of cheating by the ROE/Rules of Engagement. Stat padding or something, if you were caught doing it you were reported and ended up having your account either wiped or deleted. It stopped the Stat Whores that cheated for a living. Those days seem to have long gone now though, BF2 isn't what it used to be.
