What's the best assault gun?

The P90 and the M4 are two of the most forgiving weapons in the game. Meaning if you don't get you target spot on, just hold the trigger down as you correct your aim. They both have minimal recoil and a high RoF.

There are better guns if you have good aim, but sometimes you just can't beat a hail of lead at short range. It's just picking the best gun for the scenario.

The guns seems to be more of a personal preference then anything else. Then some guns are more lethal in hardcore then in normal like the M16. Like the post above the m4 and the p90 are the more widely used weapons because they are a little easier to click and hold fire to get kills. you can hold the trigger AND aim at the same time, with some guns you cant do that as well.

The p90 seems a bit overpowered and I try not to use it at all.

My personal all time favorite assault rifle is the G3. Silenced, ACOG, red dot, GL, dosn't matter, the gun in the right hands drops people left and right. I like it because I'm damn good at aiming thanks to a nice glass mousepad, a laser mouse set to a high dpi and a few years of FPS gaming under my belt.
If you want to get more kills and spray and pray then use the p90 or m4, if you want to get better at shooting and killing in less shots start using the g3, and though it may make you mad sometimes it'll pay off if you use it enough.

This weekend I set up all my kits with the g36c to try to find the best perk for the gun.
I found the g36c is pretty good shooting at the hip, but every time I drew the sight at long range I wish I had a g3. The only two #2 perks I liked for it were stopping power for a 2 shot burst kill, or double tap. With double tap it felt like kills were easier and faster to get since I could get off more bullets. The g36c is a good substitute for SMG since it has a bit longer range and more damage, but I couldn't do as well as I do with the g3, hands down.

For me atm i think its the M4 + Acog as that seems to be a good combo, especially with Stopping Power.

my g36c class is:

g36c silenced
3x frag
uav jammer
extreme conditioning

on maps like overgrown and bloc its just way too good since there is so much cover and your always off the radar.

as for best assault though that has to be

M4 red dot
bandolier
stopping power
martyrdom

this is mostly for maps like crash where there are all the wanna-be snipers as well as the close quarters and mid range shoot outs.

M16 for close mid and G3 for mid long... that is all there is to it..

Pssh, I still barely use anything besides the M16.

The M16's ability to one burst anyone without juggernaut is what puts it at "best assault" weapon IMO. I think the AK-47 is awesome as well. High power and fully auto? Great CQC and mid range rifle.
