All the Questions I've been Meaning to Ask

Hey guys, I got CoD4 for the PC on Christmas and I'm absolutely loving it. There are several questions I've been wondering about so I thought I'd ask them all in one thread.

    1. What do the dog tags next to some peoples names on the scoreboard at the end of the round mean? Sometimes one or two people have them, sometimes almost everyone does.

    2. Has anyone ever seen an Old School server? That mode sounds like it might be kind of fun for a change. Also, can anyone recommend some good normal (non-hardcore) Central/Eastern US servers? It seems like there are tons more UK servers than US ones.

    3. Which is better - Juggernaut or Stopping Power? And what are some of your favorite load outs using the Overkill perk? I've been having fun with the semi-auto shotgun and a M4 + Red Dot.

    4. I got the game for PC but one of my friends played it and loved it and wants to get it for his Xbox 360. He doesn't have Xbox live, but he still wants to get it if it's possible to play split screen multiplayer with other people on the same system, like in Halo. I assume this is a standard feature for console shooters, but I don't know **** about consoles. Anybody have a clue?

    5. Whenever I start up the Multiplayer half of the game, a box pops up that says something like, "Your system hardware has changed since the last time you played, do you want to reset your controls?" First of all, my hardware has not changed since I got the game, and second, even if it did, why the hell would I want to reset my controls? It's not a big problem but it's kind of annoying. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

    6. Just curious - what are your guys habits in regards to typing "gg" into the chat at the end of a match? I've started to do it nearly every round and I've noticed that many other people do as well. I don't usually do it if my team loses badly though.

And a comment: Holy crap, Sabotage on Pipeline is fun. I've won several rounds for my team by grabbing the bomb, disappearing underground, and popping up right next to the objective. Confuses the hell out of the enemy .

    1. Dead.

    2. Yes, but very few servers. I have yet to find some good east coast servers...

    3. There's no "best" perk, so you'll just have to go with preference.

    4. No, there is no split-screen in CoD4 for the console (nor PC).

    5. Did you exit out of the game "improperly"? I'm not too savvy on computer related topics, but do you have the latest drivers?

Not true spiked on #4. There is split screen on 360. Its limited to only 2 players playing at one time. You can system link but you can only play 2 people at a time.

        5. I have the same issue. I just assumed it was another wonderful flaw in vista.

Comment: If you want to rank up quick play free for all find a full server, use a MG, as soon as you spawn do a 180 and shoot.

            Uhoh.

Not true Fusion on #4. There is a split screen on the 360 for four people... but NOT on xbox live. Also only one person can play Xbox Live at a time on one console... thats common knowledge.

            Do your research. :P

I just did some googling and it appears you're right - 4 players against each other on one xbox. Can anyone who owns the 360 version confirm this?

Well i guess I should have thought a little deeper. My bro has COD4 for 360 and only 2 controllers so I figured it only 2 could play.

1; it means they are dead (Or are typing...I think).

2; Nope, the only time I was on one was like chinese are whatever, haad a big ping, but had lots of fun.

3; Jugernaught and stopping power are both good, but it's realy based on preferance. As for overkill, try to take two weapons which balance each other out. Like if you take a sniper rifle for long range, take an SMG or a Carbine to compensate.

                  4; No you can't.

5; I don't know, I also get it all the time. It's no biggy, but it's annoying, so just press "No" so it doesn't change anything.

6; "GG", or "GGA" means, good game, or good game all. I use it for what it means :p, if the round was nice, nobody was an idiot or played cheaply then I type "gga" for everybody to see, but if they played like a bunch of @$$holes then I type just "GG" for my team, or not if we were all idiots

                  Hope this helped

Actually, it is possible for more than one person to play on one console over Xbox live, Im not sure how to do it (I almost never host games) but ive seen it before.
