Sorry some people enjoy a game mode where the bullets are at least somewhat real. If you think it's messed up compared to normal then you think real life is wrong, and video games are right?

Sorry people like to use cover and "camp" rather than running into the open where they can be fragged before they know what happened. Just like real life =O

Also, "camping in buildings" from the helo. Lawl. We should all run at the helicopter and get slaughtered then?

    Wow man... L2P.

And those guys that get "20-30/10 kdr" probably happen to actually be good enough to stay alive. in fact I'm a big one on non camping, and I get those scores ALL the time.

Because all you need is a stray bullet to kill someone, so camping is hard if you have a big gun (I.E. LMG) and you are constantly killing people. They will know where you are and kill you easily.
I have played hardcore and camped myself to see what kdr i would get and I got 45-5 kdr which didnt take much skill infact it was the easiest game i played... I never get the likes playing HC properly because of the campers

I worked it out and have played 238 hours in normal game mode and 91 hours in hardcore so I think I have the right credentials to give an opinion on the game modes.. and what do you mean "because of people like you"? you dont even know me!

you have just confirmed my opinion, because hardcore is easy!

if you want to compare cod4 to rl then go ahead, but to me its a video game nothing more...

so if your happy to play a game with people staying in the same place throughout the map thats up to you, personally i dont like it.

Well the only POSSIBLE thing I can think of...since you know..Fish can turn anything around, is that, Fish, keep your "opinions" to yourself. You just opened up an area for people to do nothing but flame each other. In fact, if I wasn't so damn tired, I would probably make fun of you. I hope a mod comes in here and locks this thread. really I do..

And another thing, there are MANY threads like this. Next time go find one instead of making a WHOLE new thread ja?

Hardcore appears to be 'skillless' to you because camping is a more effective tactic in hardcore. The skill in hardcore is the ability to kill the camper. Once you realize that camping is a legit thing to do (dont get me wrong, its lame and takes far less skill). You will then figure out ways to kill campers, like shooting them through walls, or flashbang, or distract them with smoke. People that JUST camp are noobs or they have a sniper rifle and claymores, once you play hardcore enough you will realize there is 1: noob camping. and there is the 2: silent footsteps, crouching, ironsights, UAV jamming, ghillie suits in the grass and shooting though walls, and psyche out things you can do. There is really a lot you can do to kill someone that camps.

Campers also get mad when their camping doesn't pay off, this makes the camper more agitated and less patient, thus easier to kill, if he's noob.

Once you play hardcore enough you will raise to the hardcore level of gameplay. Playing normal games will never be the same. (because they become much easier!) Hardcore is my personal favorite as well. Because I play hardcore and i'm decent at it, i can switch my kits to suit a normal game and completely dominate it killing people left and right. hardcore makes you better at the game, because its MORE of the game.

using cover is a must in hardcore. you cant just run around bunny hopping and shooting everything that moves, you have to think out what you do and pay attention much more than when you play vanilla.

i have played nothing but hardcore for hte last few weeks and played in a regular server today and couldnt believe how ****ty the gameplay was in it. run and gun, throw nades, etc. it was just pointless chaos where there truly was no skill.

I prefer HC, the damage is more akin to real life. 1 good COM hit from a G3 would put anyone down.

forgive me for thinking this was an open forum where peoples opinions and thoughts and other topics about cod4 were suppose to be written... so from now on i will run any opinion through you just to make sure it is safe to write yea?

make all the fun you want about me, that will show me the level of intelligence you have.. and as for flaming.. I have not insulted any single person just stated that hardcore is skillesss..i see that the only person going on about flamming and closing the thread is you...

I`m new to cod4 section of the forums and didnt see any threads on this subject on the first 2 pages so i started this thread.

I see your aurgument, i think that my problem isnt 100% with the game mode itself but with the campers that spoil it.. in theory the hc mode should work if played correctly but if its always full of campers then that will dampen any enjoyment of the game.

using cover in hc is a must and fully agree with you but to use the same cover, window, stairwell throughout the game is lame

Thank you TSlaw[42SRT] finnaly some1 pointed all these out... Hardcore is a built in REALISM mod... in combat you do not see people running around like chooks... this "camping" you seem to hate so much is actually a tactic in hardcore... why go run and gun when you can sit back and pick off the fools that run into the open asking to be shot? and as for spam in hardcore your playing on the wrong servers.. go play on an actualy realism server.

one thing that pisses me off is how a camper is so steriotyped to be some noob camping a ladder, stairs or watever... then when actuall good players start to "camp" (which to me camping means the Strategic placement of ones self to gain the upper hand over your enemy) and they cop the **** from players who dont know how to counter such tactics... so really its not the "campers" that ruin the game.. its ppl like you who give hardcore a bad rep by crying about how you get your *** kicked by these "noob campers"....

Hardcore needs a Sh** load more skill AND tactics than normal game mods...

I do love reading excuses campers give to justify a lame tactic lol

lets see whats a camper does.. right i got my clays set.. i have a field of vision... wait.. drink my coffee arrh shoot... kill 1, maybe open my crisps... have a crisp.. shoot.. kill2, BANG my clay has killed someone.. kill 3.. must cover that area... and this goes on and on with a few hard earned airstrikes and helo in the mix.. lol

                        More skill? No, not really.
                        More tactic? Yes, perhaps so.

Also, camping is a valid tactic, but it's annoying when both teams just sit where they spawn and shoots at everything that comes around the corner. It's usually just me and the beginners at the game that actually tries to move forward and do something.

But mainly I don't play HC cause the shotguns don't do shiat there. :p You'll be dead at a distance before you even come close.

I play both a lot, I used to hate hardcore but I've grown pretty fond of it now. Bot modes require a decent amount of skill, but it's definitely different kinds of kill.

Hardcore requires you to be stealthy and use cover effectively.

Regular requires you to flank more and be aggressive, you also need to be quick on the trigger and have a few tricks up your sleeve (i.e bunny-hopping, dolphin diving etc.)

Getting a good camping spot is an important aspect of both regular and hardcore. But campers don't "ruin" my games, I just kill them (they're always still in the same spot).

Don't be ignorant and just brush it off as "lame", learn to defeat them.

dont get me wrong im in favour of the steathfuly cover and move tactic, i think that is a valid and correct way to play HC, but to do so when most of the players are just camping and as someone mentioned camping spawn points is very lame as well but some of these so-called skilled campers do this..

maybe its just me, comming from BF2 and BF2142 where camping was fround upon and thought the same mentality would be in cod4...

I came from 2142 also, and I'm of the mentality that if something pi**es someone off, it's probably working.

I personally don't camp *much* in HC, but the majority of people will do it because it works, and the only way to stop them is to prove that whilst your in the server you won't allow it.

If we could limit our discussions to game issues and not attack other people, that'd be great.

IMO, "camping" is just a word people use to give voice to their frustration that others aren't playing the game in the same way that they are.

Don't get me wrong, I'm constantly on the move---swimming through the map like a shark---But, I have no problem with someone deciding to take some ground and hold it. That's the basis for warfare, not some new tactic devised for video games.

I think both game modes offer something desireable, yet I wish they'd only implemented one. Why? Well, IMO it divides the playerbase. I have trouble finding a nearby server during primetime hours because they are either full, empty or playing a game mode I don't prefer. Also, folks start to form strong opinons based on their preferences and this polarizes the game.

In a way, CoD4 rocks because of all the variety it has, but there are so many 'options' to be had it can work against it too. The guys I've been playing with have very strong opinions about maps and I like all of them...
