Removing / Customizing server messages?

I just got the game, but I am already getting tired of seeing
"RENT SERVERS AT XYZ GAMING CHEAP LOW SPECIAL PRICE FOR YOU" written across the middle of my screen every 20 seconds.
Can anything be done? Even just moving it to a corner would be an improvement.

Isn't that serverside? I just want to modify how it looks in the client.

So is it not possible to get rid of it?
Thankfully not all servers are doing it, but its really annoying when this suddenly appears in the middle of the screen

If you're a player, and the server is running the automated message, then unfortunately you probably cannot get rid of it (or move/tweak it).

You can try changing this line in your config_mp

seta cg_hudChatPosition "5 204"

Seems like the appropriate dvar for moving chat messages to a different spot. I haven't tested this, so back up your data before editing.
