Ungodly Lag, Some One Help Me!

Hello everyone!

My problem first began when the 1.3 patch was released. I downloaded the 1.3 patch and when playing online, my ping would go from mid 50s or 60s to 999! This would happen every 10-15 seconds for the entire game. I tried to fix the problem by uninstalling CoD4, reinstalling it, then patching only to 1.2. Unfortunately, the problem persisted. I currently have the 1.4 patch yet I'm still experiencing this problem. It makes the game impossible to play. If anyone has a solution to this problem, please help me out. Thanks!

Here is the specs of my PC if it helps:

Dell Inspiron 531
Windows Vista Home Basic
AMD Athlon 64 2x Dual Core Processor 3800+ (2 CPUs)
DirectX 10
Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT

Sounds like an internet connection problem. Had a similar problem a year ago and called my IP and it turned out to be a line problem behind my house.

would your firewall or software be blocking your connection
umm reboot any of your internet connections like modem or router
see if your downloading anything or virus scaning and all

I looked...It hasn't. As for the others who replied, thank you. The problem is fixed.

To be honest, it seemed to have fixed itself. However, I changed my max packets to 100 which might have fixed the problem.

this is the support forum, and there are many facets of problems that include network troubles and the such. Take a be nice pill.

Sorry, but when people keep asking the same questions over and over, it makes people think that no one is reading the forums before posting and lag in online games is such a general topic there's tons of answers out there already. Ya ever hear the saying "No need to reinvent the wheel."?

Anyway, manually update PB and defrag. That might fix your problem.
