    DVD-ROM Issue?

I recently played the demo for cod4 and thought it was an awesome game so i went to best buy and bought a copy of it. When i brought it home and put it in my dvd-rom drive the cd would spin, then stop, then spin, then stop, and my computer wouldn't recognize it or bring up the autorun screen, so i tried going through run, and it still wouldn't recognize the dvd. my dvd-rom drive is 16x reading, so it shouldn't be too slow. dvd movies work in the drive, and i do not have any other dvd games(just cd-rom)

there is my computer(yeah i know agp gross), slightly modified(550w psu, 6600gt, and 1.5gb ram) everything else is stock

just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or if you think it is a defective dvd(doesn't look to be scratched at all)

    help appreciated, ty!

      thanks for your helpful reply

but problem has been solved, my dvd drive is probably becoming shot, but after a couple restarts the autorun menu kicked in and i got the game working fine. advice for others, if your dvd drive is an older one, but the read speed on it is fine, just give it a couple minutes to read the disk, after that mine gave me no problems

i had a similar problem, with toca2 and bf2 when they 1st came out,my DVD drive would not play either.

i had to go and buy a new one to get it working.

was not compatible with some of the newer games for some reason.

but its good you managed to get it working in the end.

From the suspiciously long review, it looks like it has a DVD drive also. The game is on a Dual Layer DVD (9GB max) so your old drive might not support it.
