    Vista Problems..

Just got a new laptop and and tried installing BF2 on it. Installation went smoothly, then I loaded up the game, the logo screen showed up, and the screen went black, then crashed to desktop. I searched around and did these steps:

1.Deleted the BF2 folder from My Docs.
2.Set my resolution in the file path.

Now I'm downloading 1.41 and those Vista fixes. This SHOULD fix the problem.

    Specs are:
    32 bit Vista
    AMD Turion 4 X2 Mobile Technology TL-64 2.20 GHz
    2 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 (Runs Call of Duty 2 at high settings)

Try right clicking on the desktop icon and tick 'run as administrator', also select 'run as Win XP SP2 compatability.'

Did both of these, nothing. Also, I can't get the 1.41 patch to install. I click the file and nothing happens.

I don't know anything about ATI cards, use this link to determine if your pc can run the game. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

I tested my computer using that site(for a couple games), and everytime it told me my cpu speed was slow.:
          CPU Speed
          Minimum: 1.7 GHz
You Have: 797.00 MHz Performance Rated at 1.67 GHz
The processor is dual-core, is it recognizing that? System properties tells me my CPU is:
          AMD Turion 4 X2 Mobile Technology TL-64 2.20 GHz
BTW, Portal and CS:S run very well.

          Now I'm going to reinstall.

Edit: Video Card passed with flying colors.

Go to Power Options and set it to "High performance". Just remember to set it back if/when running on the battery.

              Just tried that. No luck.

Still can't get 1.41 to install either.

Have you tried right clicking on the 1.41 update and run as admimistrator ?

                  Yes. I'm currently re-downloading it.

Edit:Patch downloaded and installed. Game still won't run though.
