  • Insufficient O/S priveleges

    Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Have moved my BF2 from my old PC to a new Vista PC. Am getting an error message saying 'insuffient O/S priveleges' when I try to join games!

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks,

    Will

PS. This new PC is a DELL and has McAffee running on it.

Right Click the Shortcut and click on Run as administrator. ~ You will have to do this every time you want to run the program.

Or Right Click the shortcut goto Properties, then select Compatibility and select 'Run this program as administrator'. ~ This will automatically apply the settings every time you launch the game.

When i right click my game it doesn't have run as administrator nor does it have the compatibility tab. It also stores all my games in this program called games were it shows a big thumbnail of all the games loaded onto my computer. What do I do?

I only really got this problem in Vista, the above should work in vista.

In XP try right clicking the shortcut and selecting 'Run as...', put the administrator log in details (providing you know them) in 'The following user:' fields and it should work.

I am using Vista 32bit version and I still don't see the run as administrator or compatibility tab

When i right click on the game icon I get these options.

              Support
              Copy
              Pin to start menu
              Add to quick launch
              Customize
              Hide this game.

It should be there, what are you right clicking, the game shortcut/exe file or the disk drive?

It wont appear if you right clicking the drive but it should appear if your doing the above on the application.

Start > control panel > Add or remove user accounts > Then you should see your account and it should say "Administrator"

Oh, and to change it click on the account thats yours then go to "Change account type" i dont know if you can do that though if you're not an admin..

                              Lol its a gateway.

I found one part of the problem it stores all my games in the games explorer. So I made a shortcut to desktop but there still is not a compatibilities tab.
